Biography

Brent Daugherty is currently a Masters student in Computer Science at UNC Charlotte where he is specializing in Human-Computing Interaction (HCI) and Visualization.

He completed a dual bachelors of science in electrical engineering and physics in 2002.

During that time, Brent participated in two large projects: Virtual Iraq to treat PTSD patients at the Institute of Creative Technologies University of Southern California and augmented reality in surgery at Wayne State University. These projects convinced him to switch to computer science where he has since joined Dr. Larry Hodges in the Future Computing Lab to work with virtual Humans-also known as digital humans or avatars.

In his free time, Brent enjoys design, entrepreneurship, and athletics.
